Sharad Singh – President & Founder
Sharad Singh’s journey into social entrepreneurship began unexpectedly, but it soon became his life’s most rewarding pursuit. Over the past decade, he has witnessed and contributed to the revolutionary changes within the field of social service. His unconventional yet determined approach has helped him carve out a meaningful path, making a real difference in the lives of countless people.

With over a decade of experience in social entrepreneurship, Nikhil Singh is known as a visionary leader and a man with a golden heart. He has consistently brought forward innovative ideas that aim to transform the sector. His mission is clear—creating a cataract-free Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, with plans to expand pan-India. Respected for his intelligence, integrity, and strong will, Nikhil has always believed in giving back to the community and continues to inspire through his unwavering dedication to social well-being.

What is Mission Cataract? 

Mission Cataract is an event where Sai Seva Sansthan Tust  associated Eye surgeons and staff provide free sight-saving cataract surgeries for people without means to pay for treatment. The Sai Seva Sansthan Trust associated surgeons, optometric physicians, nurse anesthetists, medical technicians and admin staff donate their time and expertise to the cause, performing an average of 100 vision restoring surgeries every year. 

There is no way to prevent cataract formation; a condition where the lens of the eye becomes clouded and eventually results in vision loss. Surgical treatment is necessary to replace the clouded lens and restore lost sight. However, for the thousands of adults living below the poverty level in India, many have neglected their vision care needs out of financial necessity. 

Nikhil Kumar Singh,Trustee of Sai Seva Sansthan Trust felt that no one should succumb to a life of blindness due to a treatable condition. That’s why in 2021, he established Sai Seva Sansthan Trust a Mission Cataract partner. The rest is history: For over two years, Sai Seva Sansthan Trust has performed free cataract surgeries. Surgeries are performed for people across Delhi NCR & Uttar Pradesh.
